Industrial Air Solutions

Laboratory glassware in a pharmaceutical facility

The pharmaceutical sector operates under strict hygiene standards: even the smallest contaminant can affect the quality of a product or cause a batch failure. HEPA and ULPA filters are among the most reliable air filtration systems available for this duty, and pharma-grade gel sealant provides the highest level of filtration without bypass risk.

With the application of GMP (good manufacturing practice) rules, one of the main issues is the installation of "clean zones" for the most critical operations. GMP cleanrooms are divided into classes A, B, C and D, and the air environment must comply with ISO 14644-2 and ISO 14644-7. Ventilation must prevent airflow from "dirty" rooms to clean rooms, which is ensured by maintaining excess pressure in clean zones.

A typical three-step filtration concept:

  • First step: fancoil filters, cassette filters, bag filters (G3, G4).
  • Second step: bag filters (F5 and above).
  • Third step: absolute filtration (HEPA filters).

A properly designed air filtration system reduces risks while improving employee health, reducing downtime and ensuring product quality.
